THE Tyrone connection in the Down backroom team has grown even stronger since All-Ireland winner John Devine was brought onboard as goalkeeper coach.

The Errigal Ciaran clubman has been working with John O’Hare and Kevin Anderson as the Mourne County bid to escape Division Three of the National League, as well as earning a crack at the All-Ireland series.

That takes the Tyrone contingent to three, with Aghaloo native Mickey Donnelly and Loughmacrory’s Ciaran Meenagh – manager of Derry when they won last year’s Ulster title – already involved with Conor Laverty’s set-up.
