Falls Bowling and Tennis Club staged a hugely-successful club international event at their west Belfast headquarters this week.

A team of 24 Norwegian bowlers from Stavanger travelled to the Falls green to face the hosts at their Fruithill, Andersonstown Road, Belfast base.

''It was an absolutely brilliant night. Well done Falls,'' said a proud Falls club president Brendan McComiskey on their Facebook site after the event, which was played with great camaraderie in the brilliant sunshine of a beautiful Belfast evening, before a feast and a night of culture followed in the clubhouse.

Among those attending was former Fruithill tennis player, Michael Ewing, who is the Norwegian Consul for Northern Ireland.

Bowls fan Philip Molloy said: ''Looks like our guests and members had a great evening. Well done by the organisers. Any chance of doing reserve for the away match?''
