Dunbarton face Braid in IIBA Irish Senior Cup second round

NO PRIZES for selecting the most attractive fixture in Saturday's IIBA Irish Senior Cup second round.

Holders Dunbarton defeated Ballymena in last year's final and will attempt to come out on top again when they visit the Braid side.

The Gilford men have been in devastating form this season, winning all six games to lead the PGL Division One table by 6.5 points from Saturday's hosts.

They travelled to Bray in the opening round and won by 15 shots, while Ballymena comfortably defeated visitors Portadown.

Saturday's clash promises to be an intense affair and Dunbarton's David Copeland is expecting another closely-fought encounter: "We thought we'd blown our chances in last year's final when Ballymena seemed destined for victory, but we somehow managed to claw things back and lift the cup.

"We have since recruited some top players, including Alan Paul and brothers Kieran and Sean Trainor, who have slotted well into the side and have a lot of big game experience. Hopefully, we can continue our current good form and come out on top."

Provincial Towns, senior league champions, should face little difficulty when they travel to Meath, but Belmont face a tricky encounter at Coleraine.
