Glentoran suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of ZNK Mura in today’s Women’s Champions League qualifying tie, despite a superb second half showing that brought them back into contention.

ZNK Mura, playing in the home comforts of Cyprus led 2-0 at the halfway point thanks to first half goals from Sara Makovec and Yana Malakhova.

The margin grew to three at the start of the second half as Noelle Vilcnik slotted home a penalty kick ten minutes after the turnaround.

Glentoran pulled one back with Chloe McCarron hitting the net while Vance converted from the spot to bring the visitors back into the contest. It wasn’t enough to get something from the game however and Mura will now face Apollon Ladies of Cyprus or Armenian side Pyunik.

A goal from substitute Kerri Letmon saw Peamount United past Dinamo-BGU FK after extra-time as the Dubliners marched into the Champions League qualifiers round 1 final.

Ellen Dolan opened the scoring for the Peas after just seven minutes while Anna Sas responded before half time to level things up and the sides remained all square until the final whistle sounded.

Letmon was the hero as she held her nerve to coolly slide the ball past Ekaterina Kovalchuk and earn her side victory.
