Gary Carson: Tingarran Express can deliver a merited win at Wexford

Tingarran Express has been a wonderfully consistent servant for connections and can get a well deserved  turn again at Wexford on Saturday afternoon.

It’s not very often you find a horse that holds her form like her at the lowest level and the Westerner mare is capable of bagging another victory.

She has been second four times since winning at Clonmel in April and has run into some improvers to be fair.

Flicker Of Hope, who beat her at the Tipperary track in May, went on to follow up in fine style at Wexford, while last time she bumped into another horse in Slieve Bearnagh, at Tramore, who has won again since.

She got a 3lb rise for her latest effort but crucially remains in this grade and, having run well here on her penultimate outing, she is fancied to get her head in front again.

It looks an average enough contest and she would be unlucky to find another well handicapped rival lurking.

The Paul Flynn-trained filly Lisamaria could be a danger after a good run on the Flat at Roscommon recently.

She is still relatively unexposed over timber and didn’t run too badly when meeting with interference on her handicap debut over jumps at Roscommon last month.

Henry de Bromhead can win the Michael O’Murchadha Memorial Handicap Chase with Tag Man

The feature event on the card is the €22,000 Michael O’Murchadha Memorial Handicap Chase and Tag Man looks capable of landing a nice prize on just his second outing over fences.

He was a good winner on his chase debut at Clonmel last month when he didn’t appear to be doing a whole lot after hitting the front.

There looks plenty more to come from Henry de Bromhead’s charge over the larger obstacles and an initial mark of 135 doesn’t look harsh.

Rachael Blackmore takes over on the eight-year-old, who reached a rating of 130 over timber and has the potential to be better over the larger obstacles.

Blackmore also teams up with de Bromhead in the opener when getting the leg up on the French-bred Nouvotic.

The handicapper has given him a rating of 115 after three runs over hurdles and if he runs up to that kind of mark he’d be good enough to win a maiden of this standard.

He was slightly disappointing at Downpatrick last time but not every horse handles that track and it may be worth forgiving him that below par effort.
