Tyrone ratings:

Niall Morgan: Sent a couple of kick-outs straight out of play and conceded the penalty, although he was left exposed. Claimed high balls confidently, but took major risks pushing high up the pitch. Converted a '45'. 6

Michael McKernan: Made too many fouls in the early stages and although he got forward a few times he never created any chances of note, but restricted Toner well. . 6

Ronan McNamee: Did a decent job against Loughlin, who only got one point from play. Strangely hand-passed straight to the Derry keeper after a foray forward but did score a point. 6

Padraig Hampsey: The skipper started strongly against McGuigan, denied him time on his favoured foot, but he didn't use the ball well and couldn't curtail the Derry full-forward as the game opened up. 5.5

Rory Brennan: Up against Toner early on, at least his man didn't score, but the Trillick player was ineffective in aiding the Tyrone attack. 5

Frank Burns: Ran the ball fairly well early on but kicked an early wide and didn't do his defensive duties anywhere near well enough and did not re-emerge for the second half. 5

Peter Harte: Brought back into the starting side but too loose with his marking and sloppy in possession, driven deeper into defence. 5

Conn Kilpatrick: Failed to imposed himself, after from a foul on McKinless, and one good dispossession of Glass. Booked for clattering Rogers. 5

Brian Kennedy: Touched the ball on the ground to concede a free and stupidly kicked McKinless to earn a red card. 4

Conor Meyler: Forced a superb save from Lynch and provided a lovely kick-pass assist, but couldn't contain Conor Doherty for much of the second half, as well as wasting ball. 6

Conor McKenna: Pressed Lynch early on but otherwise didn't catch the eye before the break, apart from getting booked. Fortunate to escape a second yellow for tripping marker McGrogan but was eventually sent off for throwing the ball at Ethan Doherty. 5

Kieran McGeary: Second best to Conor McCluskey and made little impact, although he did send Meyler in for his goal chance. Got back to make an important second half interception but another disappointing display. 5

Niall Sludden: Started against Conor Doherty and was left in his wake and never exerted any real influence on proceedings. 5

Darren McCurry: Chrissy McKaigue was his trademark touch-tight to 'Dazzler' but the Edendork man still notched two excellent scores and sent over two frees. 7

Cathal McShane: Won a couple of frees, which he scored, so it was somewhat surprising that he was taken off at the interval. 6

Substitutes:

Michael O'Neill: Replaced Burns for the second half but couldn't stem the tide of Derry attacks; hurt late on. 5

Darragh Canavan: Showed some spark, scoring a free and a mark, but still well watched by Rogers. 5.5

Ben McDonnell: On for the final quarter, for Brennan, and got on the ball a bit, but the game was long gone. 5

Cormac Monroe: Not on long enough to be rated.

Michael Conroy: Not on long enough to be rated.
