Ulster will definitely have one county side into the Qualifiers Round 4 after Cavan and Tyrone were paired in this morning's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship draw.

Mickey Harte’s Tyrone squad comfortably came through Saturday’s Round 2 challenge with a 3-14 to 1-10 win over Carlow at Cullen Park.

Cavan looked less commanding before squeezing past Down at Brewster Park.

Down bowed out of the Championship despite being the better side.

Cavan deserve credit for hanging in there and getting their noses in front at the line, but even their manager Mattie McGleenan admitted that his side “stole it”.

They will need to up their game considerably to get past Tyrone.

And there’s also the prospect of another two Ulster teams still being in contention after next weekend’s games with Kieran McGeeney’s Armagh and Malachy O’Rourke’s Monaghan troops in action.

Armagh, 1-19 to 1-13 winners over Sligo on Saturday, will face Clare while Monaghan, who trounced Waterford 5-21 to 0-9 were drawn against Leitrim - 10-point winners against Louth

Dates, times and venues will be confirmed later today.
