A new away kit for Northern Ireland's women's international teams inspired by the Giant's Causeway has been unveiled today by adidas.

The kit will be worn for the first time by the senior women's team during next week's friendly against Wales in Cardiff.

Adidas explained the away kit has been inspired by the rock formations along Northern Ireland's north Coast and by the Giant's Causeway in particular.

The shirt is the third in a series based on Northern Ireland's land and sea. The home shirt, worn by both men's and women's teams, is based on the country's landscape, in particular its green fields, while the men's away shirt was inspired by the Harland and Wolff cranes in Belfast. Adidas said all the kits tell the story of Northern Ireland's land and sea through colour.

Built for confident football and comfortable support, the new women's away shirt is made from lightweight recycled poly fabric material with breathable mesh inserts.

It comes in a sky tint colourway and has built-in Aeroready tech to wick away sweat. The short sleeve shirt is finished up with adidas branding and the Northern Ireland crest on the chest.

The new away kit will only be available in a women's cut. Sold through JD, the Irish Football Association's retail partner, it can be pre-ordered at https://www.northernirelandfootballshop.co.uk/ with an expected release date of Thursday April 6.

After it is officially released early next month it will be exclusively available in-store and online from JD with kids/mini kits to follow later in the month.
