BELFAST independent comic shop Comic Book Guys are hosting two very different free celebrity in-store signings this week.
On Thursday December 6 at 6pm, Nicholas Brendon, AKA Xander Harris from TV hit Buffy The Vampire Slayer and co-writer of the 10th season of its critically acclaimed comic adaptation, will be meeting and greeting fans at the Great Victoria Street shop as part of his tellingly titled Kicking Depression World Tour – his only Irish appearance.
Then, on Saturday December 8 at 12pm, everybody's favourite Oompa Loompa, Jawa and all-round entertainer, Rusty Goffe, will grace the Belfast store with his tales of all things Willy Wonka, Star Wars and Harry Potter (he was a Gringotts Goblin, as if you didn't already know).
At 70 years old, Rusty has done it all and is still going strong.
Comic Book Guys Owner Aaron Flanagan describes both events as "a significant shift in bringing iconic figures not only to Belfast but also to a more intimate and accessible setting than the large conventions or high street chains."
