TOM Kelly is a fine person and sharp columnist who on Monday wrote the piece I’d drafted: only better, and a day earlier.

But Tom did give me a steer. One result here of the June referendum we share with Great Britain will of course be that a vote taking the UK out of the EU will leave this place even more isolated.
