Republican prisoners back Tyrone man on punishment block
REPUBLICAN inmates in Maghaberry Prison have given their support to a Co Tyrone man held in isolation in the jail's punishment block for four years. Gavin Coyle, from Omagh, has been held in 23-hour lock up since his arrest in 2011 after the discovery of an arms cache near Coalisland in Co Tyrone. Sentenced last year, the 38-year-old was due for release in April but last month was also charged with attempted murder in connection with a bomb attack on the car of a Catholic PSNI officer near Castlederg, Co Tyrone in 2008.
