MARK H Durkan says he didn't really value the environment before he was handed the portfolio in July 2013.
His attitude has since changed but the 38-year-old Foyle MLA remains to be convinced that his ministerial colleagues share his positive assessment of the natural world.
To illustrate this he points to an executive proposal to name the new department that will have responsibility for farming and environmental matters.
