Burglary of pensioner's home a vile act

THERE can be nothing but contempt for whoever broke into a pensioner's home in Limavady and stole jewellery while the lady was in a Belfast hospital undergoing brain surgery.

Items stolen included gifts from her late husband and other family members so no matter what they may be worth in monetary terms, there is no doubt they are priceless in terms of memories and sentimental value.

No doubt whoever carried out this low crime will not worry about being held in contempt by the wider community. What they would worry about is the prospect of being arrested and brought before the courts.

Anyone with information about this particularly vile crime should give it to the police immediately and hopefully help have this lady's belongings returned to her.
