Sorrow after discovery of Michael Cullen's body

There will be enormous sorrow that the massive operation which followed the disappearance of musician Michael Cullen resulted in the discovery of his body in Belfast's Cave Hill country park.

Mr Cullen (33), from the north of the city, was clearly a very well regarded individual as well as being a talented performer, and hundreds of people volunteered to help with the prolonged searches after he was last seen on January 9.

Figures like the champion boxer Carl Frampton and the leading actor Kenneth Branagh also lent their support to the appeal, but hopes that he might be found safe and well were sadly not realised.

Mr Cullen's relatives have paid a poignant tribute to all those who turned out to look for him, and the thoughts and prayers of the entire community will be with the family in the difficult days ahead.
