Buncrana hit by new double tragedy

BUNCRANA in Co Donegal has known more than its fair share of tragedy in recent years. Over the weekend the Inishowen peninsula town was coming to terms with another terrible loss of life, this time two young friends who died in a car crash.

Nathan Farrell and Nathan Fullerton, both teenagers, were travelling with three others in the early hours of Saturday morning just outside the village of Quigley's Point on their way home from a disco in Redcastle when their vehicle struck a tree.

One of the young men died at the scene and the other passed away later in hospital. No other vehicle was involved in the collision.

Statistics show that accidents are more numerous around the time of bank holidays and that more young people are involved in them.

Numerous people, many of them young, have died in recent years on the roads in and around Inishowen. As this particular bank holiday is enjoyed by thousands of us we would do well to take notice of the facts and take even more care when driving.
