A crowdfunding appeal launched by the families of victims of the Birmingham pub bombings is two-thirds of the way to its target.
The fundraising plea was launched on Friday to fund a legal bid to overturn a coroner's ban on naming suspects at forthcoming inquests into the deaths of the 21 people killed in the attacks in 1974.
After a surge of funds over the weekend, the appeal has now achieved two-thirds of its £10,000 target - just four days in.
Julie Hambleton, spokesman for main campaign group Justice4the21, said: "All the families from Justice4the21 are truly humbled by the touching and overwhelming generosity of their supporters.
"We have always been loath to ask for money, but if we don't challenge the coroner's decision, where he has used his guise of wide discretion to exclude the murderers from the inquest, we would never be able to live with ourselves."
Ms Hambleton, whose older sister Maxine died in the double bombing, said: "This is our last chance to fight for our loved ones, in order to get some semblance of truth, justice & accountability and as such, we need the great citizens of Britain, Ireland and the world to be the conscience of our government and its judiciary system too.
"We will be forever in our supporters' debt.
"We are truly blessed and thank each & everyone of them but we still need their support because £10,000 will only be the starting point if our challenge is successful."
A spokesman for KRW Law, which represents 10 of the families, said: "Any application for legal aid to seek permission to judicially review the decision of the coroner would take excessive time or be rejected in any event.
"Therefore our clients are using crowdfunding to resource this fresh challenge in their quest for truth, justice and accountability."
