One man was killed and another injured in two separate shootings in Dublin last night.

The fatal incident happened in the Ronanstown area of the city at about 10pm.

The victim was shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was shot on the driveway of a house in Harelawn Park.

His body was removed from the scene by private ambulance this morning.

There were emotional scenes as distressed relatives gathered at the cordon as the victim’s remains were taken away.

A major forensic investigation by members of the Garda Technical Bureau continued at the scene through the morning.

Several vehicles were covered by forensic tents to facilitate the Garda examination.

The fatal incident in Ronanstown was the second shooting in the city yesterday.

Earlier, a man was taken to hospital after being shot in Finglas, in the north of the city, at about 9pm.
