A PEDESTRIAN in her 70s has died after being struck by a car in Co Meath.

The collision occurred in the Kilcarn Court area of Navan at around 1.25pm on Wednesday.

A garda spokesperson said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while no other people were reported to have been injured.

The road at Kilcarn Court remained closed on Wednesday evening as forensic collision investigators worked at the scene.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward," the spokesperson said.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Kilcarn Court area between 1pm and 1.45pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
