A PEDESTRIAN in her 40s has died following a road collision in Co Kilkenny.

The collision occurred shortly before 5.20pm on Thursday on the N10 at Spring Hill.

A garda spokesperson said emergency services were alerted but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car did not require medical treatment.

The road remained closed on Thursday night, with a technical examination of the scene planned for Friday morning by Gardaí forensic collision investigators.

"Gardaí at Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They area also appealing to road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, from the scene of the collision to make it this available to them," the spokesperson said.
