A MAN who was shot in Dublin in June has died in hospital.

Gary Carey (41) was struck six times as he walked through an underground carpark after leaving the Hilton Hotel on June 24.

He was pronounced dead in St James’s Hospital yesterday.

It is understood the victim had previously been targeted by gunmen.

Gardai last night said the office of the state pathologist and the local coroner have been notified and a post-mortem examination has been arranged.

A murder investigation has been started.
