Coronavirus: No deaths, 14 new cases in Republic

Fourteen more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland

Fourteen more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland, the National Public Health Emergency Team said.

No new deaths were reported.

There are now eight confirmed cases in the hospital system, the lowest number since early March.

Meanwhie, in Northern Ireland nine more positive cases of coronavirus have been detected, bringing the total infected to 5,930.

No new deaths were recorded for the 16th consecutive day, leaving the total at 556.

There are two Covid-19 patients in intensive care with one ventilated. 

Five confirmed outbreaks have been identified in the north's care homes with a further seven suspected outbreaks.
