HOLLYWOOD star Matt Damon appears to be enjoying Irish life after going into lockdown in the leafy Dublin suburb of Dalkey while filming his latest role.

The star of The Bourne Identity and Good Will Hunting flew into Dublin for shooting of director Ridley Scott’s new movie The Last Duel.

However, he has been caught in the Irish government’s coronavirus lockdown and is isolating in Dalkey with his wife and children.

Star-spotting is nothing new for residents of Dalkey.

The seaside suburb is also home to U2’s Bono and Donegal singer Enya.

Oscar-winner Damon has proved a huge hit with local people who have taken to social media to praise how easily he has gone native and slipped into local life.

One fan posted a photograph of the 49-year-old on Twitter complete with SuperValu bag.

He said: “Matt Damon got stuck in Dublin due to the lockdown and now, a few weeks in, he looks like your cousin from Monaghan who’s up for de weekend.”

The star was also reported to be seen swimming near Dalkey.

Another fan posted: “This virus has no selectivity, does not discriminate and affects us all over the world. I hope Matt is enjoying his stay here.”
