DUBLIN is to host one of seven stops of the 2019 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series on May 11 and 12.

The competition, featuring the world's elite divers, is being held in the capital for the first time after three previous events on Inis Mór in Galway.

The tournament comes to Grand Canal Dock as part of a seven-stop tour.

Also new to this year are events at El Nido in the Phillipines’ Palawan region, and Beirut in Lebanon.

The tour will also visit Italy, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina before a final showdown at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao in September.

In its 11th season, the competition features dives and freefalls as athletes leap, twist and somersault from breathtaking heights.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday February 19 at 10.00am on RedBull.ie/CliffDiving.
