GARDAÍ are reportedly investigating an allegation of rape involving an Irish sports star in Dublin.
The alleged attack was reported by a woman believed to be aged in her 20s.
She was taken to the sexual assault treatment unit at the Rotunda Hospital for examination.
Gardaí are said to have been to a hotel as part of their investigations.
The internationally known sports star has not been named and there had been no reports of any arrests last night.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí at Pearse Street, Dublin 2 are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a female which occurred in Dublin 2 in the early hours of Monday 10 December 2018. No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing. We have no further update.”
