Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way receives €4.3m tourism investment

VISITORS touring the Wild Atlantic Way will have their trip enhanced to the tune of €4.3 million, after four key heritage sites on the west coast were awarded money for new facilities.

Blasket Island Visitor Centre in Kerry will receive €2.25m for a new viewing point and interpretive galleries with the aim of doubling visitor numbers to 100,000.

Céide Fields in Mayo is also getting €1.15m to enhance its visitor centre, while Inis Mór in the Aran Islands is receiving €600,000 and Carrowmore in Sligo will get €350,000.
