Drogheda pharmacist stabbed in stomach during row

A MAN has been arrested after a pharmacist was stabbed while he was working.

The victim, in his thirties, was on his own in the pharmacy in Scarlet Street in Drogheda when a man entered the premises at around 8.30am and a row broke out.

The pharamcist was stabbed in the abdomen, according to a Garda spokesman.

The pharmacist was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the town, where he is being treated for what is described as serious injuries.

Gardai responding to the incident arrested a man in his thirties close to the scene and he is being questioned at Dundalk Garda Station.
