IT is not just politicians smiling down from the lamp-posts ahead of next week's local council election, with several famous footballers also getting the election fever treatment.
Several amusing posters have appeared around the streets of Belfast featuring the successful sports stars.
Brazilian footballer David Luiz and AC Milan and Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimović are among those pictured with each poster featuring a different slogan.
On Luiz's placard, it states 'Vote for a Jokester', while on the poster featuring Ibrahimović says 'Vote for an egomaniac'.
Both also feature the slogan: 'You're gonna get one anyway'.
The creative council posters are sponsored by the company, Mystery Shirt in a Box, which was launched by a Co Down teenager during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Rory McLaughlan, who was then a pupil at Our Lady and St Patrick's College Knock, runs the business that helps football shirt lovers build their collections.
It involves customers paying for a mystery shirt to be shipped to them.
