POLICE investigating attacks linked to the loyalist feud in Ards and North Down have arrested a 45-year-old man under the Terrorism Act.

The arrest followed a search of a property by detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force in the Newtownards area on Thursday morning.

A PSNI spokesperson said a number of items were also seized during the search, and the man was taken to Belfast's Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning, where he remained on Thursday evening.

“Police continue to maintain a highly visible policing presence across North Down and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the ongoing feud between drug gangs in the area, to contact police on 101. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111," the spokesperson added.
