Police probe separate weekend petrol bomb attacks in north Down

POLICE are investigating two separate arson attacks in north Down on Saturday.

In the first incident, a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in the Skipperstone Road area of Bangor just before 1am.

Three people were inside the property at the time, but were uninjured.

A number of windows were broken and scorch damage was caused to the property during the attack.

The PSNI said the attack is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.

In a separate incident, a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Newtownards.

The attack was reported at around 10.15pm in the Dicksonia Drive area of the town.

Police said a number of windows were broken and extensive damage was caused to the front of the house

“Luckily no one was at home at the time of the attack, which is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.”
