POLICE have launched an investigation following a theft from an ATM in Co Fermanagh.

It was reported that the door of the cash machine, which was located at a shop on Main Street in Tempo, was forced open and a sum of cash taken.

The incident happened some time between midnight and 3am on Wednesday.

Police have appealed for information.

It comes just over a week after an attempt was made to steal cash from an ATM in Derrylin in Co Fermanagh last Tuesday.

Police said the rear door to the machine, at a premises on the Main Street, was prised open and entry gained.

On Friday, two men aged 24 and 28 were arrested in Co Antrim shortly after an attempted ATM robbery in the main street area of Kells around 2am.

On March 5, an attempted ATM robbery was reported in the Roguery Road area of Toome around 4.30am.

Police said that two men were observed trying to gain entrance to the door of an ATM in a forecourt, before leaving empty handed when a car arrived.

On March 3, "a substantial sum of money" was also taken from a cash machine at the Dungannon Road area of Portadown, Co Armagh.

Last month, on February 24, thieves also stole £94,000 from an early morning cash machine raid at Cabragh Filling Station near Dungannon.

The same premises was targeted in 2019 when a stolen digger was used to remove the ATM from the wall.
