TWO men have been arrested in Co Antrim following an attempted robbery of an ATM machine in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police responded to an alarm activation in the Main Street of Kells near Ballymena around 2am.

The men, aged 24 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft a short distance from the scene after police tracked their movements to a house in the Fernisky Road area.

Both of the suspects remained in custody yesterday, with officers calling on anyone with relevant information to call 101, quoting reference 115 for March 10 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
