Funeral to take place for Downpatrick mum killed after being struck by vehicle

THE funeral of Downpatrick woman Michaela Curran who was killed after being struck by a vehicle will take place on Friday.

The mother-of-three died following the single-vehicle collision in the Bishops Brae area of the town shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday.

A funeral notice describes the 35-year-old as the "dearly beloved wife of Kyle and loving mother to Emma, Daniel and James".

A service will be held at St Patrick's Church in Downpatrick at 11am before a burial at the town's Struell Cemetery.

An online fundraising page set up in the wake of the tragedy to help her family with funeral costs described Michaela as "a vibrant fun energetic" woman whose death has left the community "in deep shock".
