Artist and television host Frank Clarke passes away

Television host and artist Frank Clarke, who fronted the show ‘Simply Painting on RTÉ in the 1990s, has died.

The 84-year-old Dublin passed away on Tuesday after a long illness, his family said.

A former dress designer and property developer, Mr Clarke only took up painting after he retired.

His show ran for eight years, airing not just in Ireland but also in the US, Australia and parts of the rest of Europe, according to RTÉ.
