A CO Donegal man has died in a road crash in Australia.

Rory Greene, who was originally from Ardsbeg, Gortahock, was killed in the collision on November 29. It is understood he had been living in Brisbane for the past number of years.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Greene, who was married with three children, with many friends writing on social media that it was "heartbreaking news".

One tribute said: "Poor Rory taken too young, devastating for the whole family".

Another said: "RIP Rory, so sad to hear this," while another added: "Lovely Rory. Many a good laugh we had".

Independent councillor Michael McClafferty also said: "I would like to express my condolences to the family at this terrible time".

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Mr Greene is survived by his wife Frances, three children Mary-Kate, Ruán and Íona, his parents, Bernard and Dorothy and wider family circle.
