A TWITTER senior executive based in Ireland has had access to the company's Dublin office and her email restored after she took court action.

It came after Sinead McSweeney, a former head of communications at the PSNI, last week secured the temporary High Court injunction preventing the social networking giant from terminating her employment.

Ms McSweeney, who is Twitter’s Global Vice President for Public Policy, had said she had been treated as if she is no longer employed by Twitter after she did not respond to a 'generic and vague' e-mail sent to all employees by owner Elon Musk.

She was locked out of her email and not able to access the office, despite the fact that she had not resigned from her job.

RTÉ reported that Twitter yesterday gave undertakings in court that Ms McSweeney would continue to have this access to the office and her email in the short to medium term.

Mark Connaughton, senior counsel acting for Twitter, said the company wanted to get back into a position where "normal relations are restored".

He said that would be best achieved by a direct meeting between Ms McSweeney and a senior member of HR in the organisation.

Mr Justice Brian O’Moore extended the orders he made last week and adjourned the action until the end of January, but warned that if the matter was not resolved, they would all be back in court.
