AN exhibition is due to be unveiled in Belfast this week combining TikTok and photography.
Three Tik Tok content creators from Northern Ireland are coming together for the display at Belfast Exposed, which aims to "bring new audiences to the visual arts".
Featuring photography, audio visual, interactive digital and installation elements, the creators - Emma White, Conor Joyce and Erin Riley - will launch the exhibition on Thursday as well as take over Belfast Exposed's social media channels.
Described as the "first of its kind globally", the exhibition from Belfast Exposed and VAVA Influence will be "highly interactive for audiences and push boundaries of what can be done in an otherwise static gallery space".
It is also part of Belfast Exposed, 'Futures' initiative, which seeks to provide platforms for emerging artists and creators.
Since its launch in 2016, TikTok has become one of the world’s most popular social media platforms and was ranked as the world’s most popular website in 2021, surpassing Google.
Having become a staple of both personal and business social media, TikTok is home to artists, creatives and influencers of all kinds. Vast quantities of audio and visual content are generated on it every day, both through original content creation and ‘remixes’ of existing TikToks by users.
Deirdre Robb, director of Belfast Exposed, said: "We are thrilled to be presenting this world first of an exhibition and pushing the boundaries of what can be done in our gallery spaces.
"Working with VAVA and these creators will bring a whole new audience to Belfast Exposed, as well as introducing our existing audiences to a new way of producing and consuming art.
"We can’t wait to see how they react."
The exhibition will be in the Gallery II space at Belfast Exposed from December 1 to 23.
