A CO Armagh motorcyclist killed following a collision with a tractor was last night remembered as "an absolute gentleman".

Father-of-five Aaron McAllister from Bessbrook died following the crash at Drumullagh in Omeath on Sunday at around 3.45pm.

Tributes have been paid to the 29-year-old, who was described as "a beautiful young man gone too soon" and someone who was "always smiling and always had the craic".

Family and friends of Mr McAllister have written on social media of their devastation at his tragic death.

His devastated partner Shannon wrote on Facebook that "the love I have for you is once in a lifetime" adding that "there is no me without you".

A friend wrote: "Aaron you will be sadly missed big man, took far to soon thought and prayers to all the family", while another said "god help your family at this devastating time".

Another wrote that it was "just so hard to believe your gone big man, you were one of the very best - thoughts are with the entire family at this difficult time", while others remembered him as "an absolute gentleman" and "such a lovely fella".

A garda spokesperson has appealed for information about the collision, which "involved a motorcycle and a tractor".

"The male motorcyclist, 29 years of age, was fatally injured and his body has been removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary in the Louth County Hospital, Dundalk," a spokesperson said.

"A post mortem will take place at a later date. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R173 at Drumullagh, between 3.30pm and 4pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí."

Mr McAllister is survived by his partner Shannon, children Amelia-Rose, Erika, Eóin, Evaleigh and Shaea, parents Loretto and Brian and wider family circle.
