A GAELIC football fundraising event which is due to take place in west Belfast this weekend promises to be a day packed with "entertainment, fun and laughs".
The `Gaelic For Mothers and Others' tournament, which is taking place at O'Donovan Rossa GAC on the Shaw's Road on Saturday morning, will see the teams take to the pitch in aid of the Northern Ireland Hospice.
Joining Rossa on the pitch will be a number of visiting teams from around Belfast and Tyrone.
The tournament has been organised in memory of west Belfast woman Katrina McAuley, who died in July 2021, and was cared for at the hospice in the last days of her life.
Her husband, Liam is a former chairman of Rossa GAC.
Mairead Rogan of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) committee representative for Rossa, said: "The teams all pay an entry fee and we have had loads of people donate prizes and local businesses have supported it.
"We have our younger girls. They all get involved and they will be round selling ballots and there's a shop," she said.
"Our oldest player is over 60 and our youngest is 26. You will come and see women giving it everything and have so much fun. It is so good for your mental health. Your energy is high and it's going to be good craic."
"Gaelic for Mothers is a non-competitive, social game. We train once-a-week with Seamus McKenna, he is the Senior Ladies coach and an ex Antrim coach".
