Tánaiste LeoVaradkar has been announced as a guest speaker for the Ireland’s Future `Together We Can' event.

The Fine Gael leader will join numerous other politicians, commentators and figures from the world of entertainment at the event, including actor Colm Meaney, who played the late Sinn Féin deputy first minister Martin McGuinness in The Journey and Coleraine actor, James Nesbitt, who starred in Bloody Sunday.

Others politicians confirmed for the event include Sinn Féin president Mary Lou McDonald, her deputy Michelle O’Neill, SDLP leader Colum Eastwood, and TDs Jim O’Callaghan and Neale Richmond of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael, respectively.

Also speaking at the three-hour afternoon event, which is taking place at the 3Arena on Saturday, October 1, will be Ben Collins, a former British government press officer who previously campaigned on behalf of the UUP, as well as Limerick rapper Denise Chaila and National Women’s Council of Ireland director Orla O’Connor.

There will also be performances from Planxty, the Bothy Band and Moving Hearts, among others.

Organised by campaign group Ireland’s Future, it has been billed as the largest gathering in recent memory to discuss a border poll and a united Ireland.

Ireland’s Future describes itself as a group that advocates for and promotes debate around the future of the island, including "new constitutional arrangements".

In a Twitter post, Ireland’s Future said: "We are delighted to announce that Tánaiste @LeoVaradkar, leader of
