A 35-YEAR-old man has been charged with drugs offences by police investigating the South East Antrim UDA.

The charges follow a search in the Carrickfergus in February as part of an ongoing probe into the activities of the loyalist paramilitary organisation.

The man is accused of possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B drug, and possessing criminal property.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on September 15.
