A 31-year-old man who was arrested by police investigating an online video relating to murdered Co Tyrone teacher Michaela McAreavey has been released on bail.

There was widespread outrage in June when a clip emerged showing people singing a vile song about the 27-year-old at a gathering at Dundonald Orange Hall.

Mrs McAreavey, daughter of Tyrone GAA legend Mickey Harte, was killed in 2011 while on honeymoon in Mauritius. The young woman was strangled in her room at the Legends Hotel. Her death came just days after she had married her husband, John McAreavey.

After the shocking footage of the song emerged in June, which was captured on the same day Orangemen gathered in Belfast for a parade to mark the centenary of the partition of Ireland, several people identified in the clip were sacked from their jobs.

A man arrested on Wednesday, in connection with the video, has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Three men previously attended for interviews on a voluntary basis.

Two men sacked in relation to the video are reportedly bringing claims of unfair dismissal.
