FOUR men and two women have been arrested after suspected drugs, firearms and £100,000 in cash were seized by police following searches in Co Armagh.

The arrests came as a PSNI helicopter followed a suspicious vehicle from Newry to Camlough on Sunday afternoon.

The BMW vehicle was observed in Camlough at a suspected drug deal involving occupants of a Renault Megane.

Both vehicles were followed, with the BMW driving to Markethill while the Megane made its way to a house in Bessbrook.

The vehicles were intercepted by PSNI officers and the occupants arrested, while searches were carried out at properties including the house in Bessbrook where further arrests were made.

A PSNI spokesperson said the searches led to the seizure of suspected diazepam, cannabis and ecstasy, while suspected firearms and £100,000 in cash was also seized along with a quantity of tobacco products.
