IRISH News chairman Jim Fitzpatrick's cortege paused outside the newspaper's offices in Belfast as staff said a final farewell yesterday.

A cremation was held at Roselawn cemetery outside the city yesterday.

The father-of-eight's final resting place will be in the columbarium at St Patrick's Church on Donegall Street, alongside his beloved wife Alice, who died in 2013.

Requiem Mass for the 92-year-old was celebrated at St Brigid's Church in south Belfast on Tuesday when his family, friends and colleagues were joined by figures from the world of politics, business and journalism.
