AN investigation has been launched after a petrol bomb attack in Co Armagh.

A device was thrown at a car in the Bells Row Court area of Lurgan at around 2.40am today.

Police say damage was caused to the vehicle while smoke damage was also reported to the front of a nearby property.

There were no reports of any injuries and the petrol bomb was taken from the scene for further examination.

Meanwhile, a second investigation is underway after a petrol bomb was thrown at a property in the Glenvara Drive area of Coleraine, Co Derry, at around 12.05am today.

A man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the incident.

A spokesman for the PSNI said: “Officers attended, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and two petrol bombs were observed, one of which was burning in the front garden.

“Thankfully, the two occupants of the property were unharmed but significant damage was caused to the front door of the property and the living room window was smashed."
