A petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Mossvale Park in Coleraine in the early hours of this morning.

Police said they believed the device had been thrown at around midnight but was discovered in the garden of the property by officers at around 2.15am.

The PSNI said the officers had been "attending another incident in the area" when they located the petrol bomb in the front garden.

“The device had burnt itself out, resulting in minor scorch damage being caused to the front of the property.

“It’s believed that it may have been thrown at the house at around midnight."

There were no reports of any injuries, and the petrol bomb was taken away to be examined.
