A woman has been attacked in her Carrickfergus home by a gang of masked men armed with hammers.
It happened at around 10pm last night in Sunningdale Crescent in the Co Antrim town.
Police said five men armed with hammers and wearing dark clothing and balaclavas forced their way into the house and assaulted a woman in her forties in an upstairs bedroom.
The victim received injuries to her hands and face.
Police said two other women in the house at the time were uninjured but left badly shaken.
