A SHOT fired at a parked car in east Belfast early on Tuesday was a "reckless incident", police said.

Two men, who were wearing shorts and dark coats with their hoods up, were seen in the Victoria Close and Victoria Road area at around 1.50am.

One of the men walked towards a parked car in Victoria Close, pulled out a gun and fired.

The rear window of the car was shattered in the attack.

A police spokesman said: "Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of this reckless incident, however, those responsible showed no regard for the safety and wellbeing of anyone in the area."

Police appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101.
