AN 18-year-old remained in a critical condition in hospital following a one-vehicle crash in south Armagh.

The crash, which involved a red Volkswagon Golf, happened in the Forkhill Road area of Mullaghbawn shortly after 1am on Sunday.

Police said officers along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene of the collision.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage that could help with enquiries is asked to contact police.

Meanwhile, the emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Co Down.

Police said one man was injured in the collision on Belfast Road, close to Ballynahinch, which involved a black Toyota Landcruiser and a silver Volkswagen Golf.

The route was closed for several hours following the crash at around 1.15am yesterday.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
