Sir Van Morrison to play two shows in Belfast next month
VAN Morrison is to play two shows in Belfast next month.
The Belfast singer is to perform at Limelight 1 for the fully seated gigs on March 6. The first show will take place at 2.30pm, while doors for the later show will open at 7pm.
Sir Van recently released his 42nd studio album, Latest Record Project Vol 1, a 28 track double album delving into his ongoing love of blues, R&B, jazz and soul.
The singer will be returning to Northern Ireland for the gigs following a series of concerts in the US.
It comes as he faces legal action over comments about Stormont health minister Robin Swann.
Sir Van, a vocal lockdown critic, lambasted him over his handling of Covid-19 restrictions. During a high-profile incident at the Europa Hotel in Belfast last summer, he took to the stage and criticised Mr Swann.
The UUP minister is suing the singer with defamation proceedings last year citing two subsequent incidents when the singer elaborated on his views on Mr Swann.
Tickets for Sir Van’s Limelight shows go on sale on Friday from 10am on ticketmaster.ie
