Murder appeal as man dies one month after stabbing

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man died as a result of injuries sustained in a stabbing in north Belfast last month.

The attack took place in the early hours of January 7 at a house in Harcourt Drive.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital but died yesterday morning.

The PSNI said a number of arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Chief Inspector John Caldwell said: “I am appealing for anyone who has any information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch.

"If you were in the area of Harcourt Drive late on Thursday, January 6 or early on Friday, January 7and saw or heard anything out of the ordinary please call 101, quoting reference number 188 07/01/22."

Harcourt Drive was also the scene of the murder of 30-year-old Caoimhe Morgan shortly before Christmas.

The mother-of-four was found in her home on December 18.
